Damp-Proof Course Options in Adelaide
The 2008 joint heritage guide lists four ways of putting in a new damp-proof course: undersetting with a mechanical course, slot sawing with a mechanical course, impregnation of a chemical course and active electro-osmotic damp-proofing. None of them takes out the salts already in the wall, and the council fact sheet says not every wall can be injected at all.

What damp-proof course options in Adelaide actually involves
The guide lists the four methods as options and does not rank them. The council fact sheet adds that not all walls can be injected, and that sometimes it may take a few treatments to make the damp course continuous. We state nothing about how well any method works, because no source we read does.
The salts
The fact sheet says a new course will stop new rising damp, but the wall fabric above it will still contain deposited salts from the decades of previous rising damp. The guide says that when salts abound, do not just insert a damp-proof course; also remove excessive salts from above it. A quote for a course alone leaves that question open.

Undersetting, and one line from the regulator
Consumer and Business Services publishes a document headed Building Work Supervisor Standard Registration Conditions with a section headed UNDERSETTING, whose scope reads: Removal and replacement of salt damp affected masonry incorporating a new damp proof membrane. That is the only salt damp wording we found in any regulator's page, and it says nothing about what injection, mortar or plaster work needs. The quotes page covers what to ask.
Ask the provider which method, why it suits this wall, and what the quote does about the salts already there.
